Michael and Maxine | Greenlake Park Engagement Session
I am so excited to write this blog! Michael and Maxine inquired about my photography services for their wedding in June of 2024 and as soon as I met this couple, I knew I wanted to work with them. They were both so down to earth and the story of how they met is so cute! We planned for a fall engagement session and after scouting several locations, we locked down Greenlake park so we can capture the beautiful fall colors in Seattle. We tried to schedule the shoot late October, but it happened to rain on that day so rescheduled to a beautiful November morning and I couldn’t be happier with the results!

Firstly, respect to the couple for waking up so early and getting ready for this sunrise shoot! I always prefer sunrise over sunset shoots as you can the same beautiful lighting, with less people and distractions in the background.
This park is so beautiful during the fall. The fall colors are absolutely gorgeous, and there’s so much you can do with the trees, the park trail, and the lake. The trees that show so a lot of fall colors are perfect for framing your subjects and can be incorporated as foreground to add layers and bring visual interest into the photos. Because the area is so open, I can move around and get different angles instead of just straight on the couple and the background will still look nice and clean!
There’s so much that can be done with the lake as well. There are great spots for incorporating the lake leading into background trees; another way off adding layers of interest into my photos. If I really wanted to, we could have spent more time at the lake but there was so much beautiful fall foliage that we just didn’t have enough time!
All it takes is a single tree that highlight fall colors for a unique seasonal fall photo. Anything yellow, orange, or red, I just love incorporating that. If there are other trees in the background that don’t highlight colors, I actually prefer that just to bring in variety and interest!
Greenlake is one of many beautiful locations for a fall photoshoot. I’m looking forward to exploring more parks and locations and different seasons here in Seattle to create memories that last a lifetime.
