Seattle Wedding Photographer holding a camera in a well lit studio in Everett, Washington

I remember the day I picked up my first “professional camera”. It wasn’t actually because I wanted to shoot portraits, but rather landscapes and cityscapes. I just hated the look that a beautiful scenery came out on my phone; it just didn’t do it justice. I picked up a camera in 2017 and since just have had a hard time putting it down. I continued shooting landscapes and those interested in my work can view it on instagram @photogenicjourneys

I never really thought about shooting portraits but some friends complimented my photography work. I thought I’d just give it shot and long story short, I’m absolutely in love with wedding and portrait photography! I “retired” landscape photography in pursuit of weddings and portraiture. Wedings are full of raw emotion, and the opportunity to capture those moments, knowing that one day, these photos are going to bring back those precious moments, is absolutely priceless.

Time is fleeting. You’re only going to get married once. You’re only going to be young for so long. Allow me to do right by you by capturing this moment in time of your love story.

Time and time again, I’ve witnessed too many situations where wedding photographs are stiff, boring, and even important moments missed. This is never something I could never allow happen to my couples! Your wedding is the most significant investment you’ll make that you have photographed, so it needs to be done right. Natural and authentic memories, no moments missed, beautiful images that you’ll cherish for a lifetime. That’s what every wedding, and couple behind the planning, deserve. That is what I deliver.

HOW IT BEGAN

THE MAGIC OF PHOTOGRAPHY ALL STARTED SEVEN YEARS AGO…

It all began with a Nikon D3400 in 2017 and kit lenses casually taking landscape photos as hobby. This was also my first time doing any type sort of editing of an image. The more I shot and the more I edited, the more possibilities I discovered of what the world of photography had to offer. I never thought I’d go any further and spent a thousand dollars for a lens, but I did. The more lenses I added to my collection, the more my world opened up.

Even though I was more focused and interested in travel and landscape photography at the time, I casually shot portraits for friends and family. Eventually, I shot my first wedding in 2018; one thing led to another, and here I am, having cycled through the Nikon, Sony, and Canon ecosystem have tried so many different types of lenses. My full frame Canon mirrorless bodies never leave me; I take it everywhere I go; even when I vist home for the holidays.

MORE ABOUT ME

Foodie at Heart

Growing up in the SF Bay Area, the food scene was so incredibly diverse. and good. Authentic ethnic food everywhere. I love hole-in-the-wall spots. Give me that over fine dining any day of the week.

PNW over California

I’m originally from California and moved to Seattle in 2023. Unpopular opinion, but I like the weather here more. California weather is too comfortable and boring. We get seasons here and I love it. Gives me something to look forward to. During brutal winters here make the summers so worth it.

Never Ending Wanderlust

I’ve traveled to almost 40 countries. Been to almost all countries in Europe west of Poland. Some other amazing countries I’ve traveled to are Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore. Next on my bucketlist is Australia and New Zealand. See more of my travel photos on ig @photogenicjourneys

“20/10 WOULD DEFINITELY WORK WITH JON AGAIN”.

“Jon is an easygoing, fun, and talented photographer! I was looking for a last-minute mini photoshoot to get a nice portrait of my partner and I, and I was lucky enough to stumble upon Jon's website. I messaged him on a Sunday evening and not only did he respond quickly the next morning, but he was also able to squeeze us in for a 20-minute shoot that same week - on Thanksgiving!!

The shoot itself was amazing. I've never had photos taken before so was pretty nervous and self-conscious (I think my partner was also), but Jon made it so fun and easy - we had a great time! My partner hates taking pictures but afterwards said that he had a really great time and was glad that we did it.

Jon was so kind, also, because he was able to send over a couple of edited photos for us that same day, since we needed it by the end of the week. They were perfect! The rest came in another few business days and now I'm having a hard time deciding which 10 I want, because they are all so fun. There's a great balance of "formal" and "artsy." I think the ones of us touching noses are my favorite!

My Philosophy

Self-Worth

Every couple and indivdual is valuable and has a unique story that deserves to be told to someone who is excited to share that story to others.

1

Authenticity over Image

You don’t need to pretend to be someone you’re not to impress people who don’t know you. Be yourself.

2

Quality

I’m very vested into each one of my clients. I’m very cogniscant over the number of clients I take to ensure I deliver the best client experience and photos I can.
