History of the Venue

In 1984, Ben and Carol (current owners) bought the Staswick Dairy Farm from Sid and Marguerite Staswick. The Farm had been in the Staswick family since the early 1900s, being operated as a dairy since the 1920s. Gentle Ben (as he is known around the valley) operated the dairy, renaming it Swans Trail Farms, building upon what the Staswicks had established as a quality dairy with a fine herd of cows.

In November 1997, the Krauses sold the milking cows with the idea of concentrating on opening their farm to the public for seasonal festivals and private events focusing on weddings. They have now been doing weddings for almost two decades.

Ceremony and Reception Spaces

Swan Trail Farms’ expansive field offers multiple ceremony locations to suite any preference of the married couple. There are two options that overlook the pond: The North Dock, and the South Dock. Both offer amazing countryside views. the preference should go to the couple’s desire for the type of lighting and angle they want the sun to hit depending on their ceremony time. There is also an option at the meadow, which overlooks a massive beautiful tree serving as a stunning backdrop. In the event of poor weather, the ceremony can be hosted indoors to provide shelter, comfort, and warmth for your guests. In any case, your wedding photos will look amazing regardless of your choice of ceremony location.

The reception is held at the Dairy Barn, and is one of the two original dairy barns from the original farm. After the milking cows were removed, the barn was renovated and has weathered siding, rock wall exterior, and is open to the east side, giving unobstructed views of the pond, waterfall, farm, and mountain landcape. A partially enclosed interior is finished with clear cedar and recycled rusted tin, opening up to a large patio with a waterfall, flower beds, and a stairway leading down to the open grassy lawn. Strings of clear globe lights hang over the patio, creating an enchanting and romantic atmosphere for your reception. Your wedding gallery of the reception will look stunning with all the natural light flowing in, while also providing the ambiance and charm of a renovated barn.

The second barn was fully remodeled in 2012 and is now called the Chandelier Hall. This building features a large stone fireplace, countless windows from all sides for natural lighting, and beautifully finished hardwood wainscoting, and elegant chandelier lighting. Its has been utilized for ceremonies, receptions or food buffet, dependent on weather and the wedding couple's liking.

Bridal Suite

The elegant bridal suite features a French Country feel with tufted vanity stools and chairs making for beautiful pictures. The white wood walls and glistening chandelier give the room lots of light, perfect for hair and makeup. Two large mirrors, one horizonal and one vertical, and lots of open space provides plenty of room for everyone to get ready. The suite's closet has fans, heaters, professional stand-up steamer, lots of hanging hooks for purses, dresses, and coats. It's a beautiful suite to get ready in and have photos taken to capture your journey to the altar!

Groom’s Suite

The groom's room provides a private space to for groom and party to store their clothes, shoes, get ready and hang out. Complete with three large mirrors, bar stools, leather ottoman, and barn wood walls, it is a great spot for pictures as they are getting ready and hanging out. In addition, they are able to hang out in the adjacent Dairy Hallway with tables and chairs and relax until it's time to take pictures and get ready for the ceremony.

Swan Trail Farms also provides views of Mount Baker and Cascade Mountain Range, and is located along the river in the historic Snohomish Valley, providing multiple elements of natural scenery: field, mountains, pond, river. Swan Trail Farms accomodates a maximum of 300 guests for a fully outdoor ceremony and reception space. In the event of unpredictable weather, and the couple would like to opt for indoor options, 200 guests can be accommodated..

The property can accommodate 200 cars in their parking lot.
